In July 1952 the area near Zakopane between Dolina Biala and Dolina
Kosoieliska was taken over by military forces. An organization know
as Przemysl R 3 began prospecting-in this district for uranium ore.
The administrative off ices of the organization were set up in the former
Czestochowka Hotel ("pension") in. Zakopane. Workers employed by the
organization are paid. 3,000 zloty( per month, are kept from all contact
with the outside world, and are sworn to maintain secrecy regarding
their work,
