The Battalion is composed of 4 companies of about 200 men each. The
companies are divided into 4 platoons.

Only one subordinate officer ft /recalled/ is on duty with each coi;tpany;
he is also the CO of the company.

Armmament:
Of the detachment: none.
Individual: Soviet-mde semi-automatic rifle - model unknown,.- with fixed
and folding bayonet of triangular form.

The whole battalion. carries out training and exercises; they are carried out
unwillingly also by the officers -themselves; the exrecises:
construction of bridges;
digging of trenches;
laying of nines/> wooden / and of iron mines without bob;
search for mines /with the German-made nine-detector/.
Such training is carried out daily from 7 AN till noon.
In the afternoon an officer gives political lectures based mainly on
anti-Sov5.et propaganda.
An action of persuasion is carried on among Yugoslav troops about the Korean
war to the effect that the aggressor is the North Korean .Army commanded by Soviet

The Regiment undergoes the normal infantry training.
There is no special training which would justify its denomination of
mountain infantry,
Shooting lessons:
the troops
carried out:
-- those armed with rifle: 6 shooting lessons, the first one of which at
a distance of 100 meters, and the sixth one at 400 meters. Four rounds were fired
during the first lesson, later increasing to 12 rounds in the last lesson.
-- machine gunners: 5 shooting lessons, the first one of which at a distance
of 150 meters, and the fifth one at 600 meters. Rounds f'_red: from a minimum of 7
during the first lesson to a maximum of 30 during the fifth lesson.
RR UM: the a/m data corroborate in part those reported in the Report I1o01648
which deal with the same units, in spite of/she different Wane (of the unit) which was
given by the source. It can be established on the basis of the data about the

15 x 10 meters, formerly a tavern, and of another building, located on the courtyard

Surveillance:
The surveillance is carried out by one guard during the day and by to guards
during the night.
The gua-,rds are being furnished by the 3-rd Rifle Rgt. which is stationed
in G. 1, ILANOVAC / see paragraph "Troops"/.
Munitions in custody:
The projectiles for howitzers of 105 mm are being kept in the building which
was a tavern
formerly . They represent a load of 3 box-cars.
In the former stable there are rounds for Italian-made rifles and for "1auser"
rifles; the quantity corresponds to a load of 5-6 trucks,
