The school for training of is tscandidates for Soviet Zone
paramilitary units (Bereitsf4haften) located at NauAburg/Same
is a so-called category A school specializing in infantry
training.

The school was formally o p.e :ed on 20 September 1949, concurrently
with the beginning of the first course. As of about 1 October
1949 770 students had been #acruited for the course. The ages
of the recruits ran from 18 to 25, Almost none of the recruits
has had regular army basic training. This deficiency already
has made it necessary to revise the training program in order
to devote an initial period of training to the basic techniques
of the infantry soldier before going on to the actual officer.
