REPORT NO.
1. Clandestine contact has been established with unidentified leaders of the
National Peasant Party who are presently in prison. Some of these im-
prisoned leaders appear to be supplying advice for and direction to certain
political activities of a clandestine character which are being carried on
by some members of the National Peasant Party and others.
2. These imprisoned leaders have ordered that anti-Semitism among Rumanians
must be curbed. They are said to be indifferen the a ivities abroad
of General Nicolae Radescu and to be annoyed at the address delivered
before the meeting of the European Movement in Brussels by Grigore
Gafencu.
3. The imprisoned leaders are reported to be in as good health as could be
anticipated in view of prison conditions.

chased on the black market.
