Consturction of the largest iron foundry in the Soviet Union should
have been completed by the end of September 1948. This iron foundry,
located at Dneprodzerzhinsk, comprises an area of 15 so. leas. There are
three large f?.r ces in this i::posi?xg foundry, :fhich are able to produce
within a period of 24 hours 'hundreds of tons of first grade steel. This
stool is then used to produce arms necessary for the Soviet armed forces.
his foundry has about 26,000 employees who :work in of ;ht hour
shifts. The foundry operates continuously l'4 l yrs. a day.
A large Soviet military arsenal is being constructed in the
immediate vicinity of this fauihdry. which will Duoduce cannons for the
Soviet artillery. It will also produce automobiles, armed aurs and
ammunition for the artillery.
The aforementioned arsenal is about 8 lens long and 3 leis wide.
