The Director 1 f
Mr. William F. Buckley, Jr.
150 East 35th Street
New York City, New York 10016
Several times a year we invite distinguished guest
speakers to address some 300-500 employees of the Central
Intelligence Agency and of other agencies of the Intelligence
Community on topics of concern in various fields, including
science, diplomacy, and public policy. Our objective is to
improve understanding as well as provide an intellectual
stimulus for employees. Among recent guests have been
Attorney General Griffin B. Bell, Mrs. Barbara Tuchman, and
Mr. Jack Anderson. I believe the program, now in its sixth
year, has been very successful.
It would give me a great deal of pleasure to have you
serve as the CIA Guest Speaker on Wednesday, 14 November
1979, at 3:00 p.m. in our Headquarters Auditorium. The
topic I have in mind is "A Conservative's-,View of Foreign
Policy."
The Program consists of a formal lecture of approximately
45 minutes, followed by a 30-minute question period. Lectures
are usually scheduled 3:00 to 4:15 p.m. The Guest Speaker
honorarium is $500 in addition to round-trip coach air
transportation.
It would be a great pleasure for all of us, and a personal
one for me, to have you accept this invitation. Our Special
STAT Programs Officer, will be pleased to
discuss any aspects of the arrangements with you. She can be
STAT reached on
