Please forgive the delay, the result of incessant travels which
.brought your letter to me just now, suggesting that my intelligence
apparatus is much worse than the worst that has even been alleged about
yours. In any event, the answer is: 1) I cannot be with you on the 14th
of November, as I am scheduled that night to speak in Illinois; and 2) I
accept your invitation if we can find a date that suits you when I am
free. It would be such a pleasure to see you again. I have instructed
