SECRET Approved For lease 2004/01/28 : CIA-RDP82T0028 . 00100060023-4 IAS-16/73 31 January 1973 MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD SUBJECT: Revisions to FY 74 and FY 75 Projections for [AS Support to SALT and MBFR 1. Information acquired since the publication of the IAS Plan for FY 75 has, caused us to change our projected costs for support to SALT and MBFR. We had previously projected for our analysis of land-ba=sed offensive and defensive missile systems and the SLBM program in support of SALT I. We have since been tasked by the SA/DCI/SAL with monitoring Soviet heavy bomber and cruise missile submarine bases for SALT I I . We estimate this support will require an additional in both FY 74 and FY 75. 25X1 9 WP h-1 previously estimated our support to MBFR would require in FY 74 and in FY 75. This estimate included our assistance in establishing the MBFR ground force installation data base in eastern Europe, and direct support to CIA in monitoring an MBFR agreement. We have since been informed that OSR considers it essential that they establish and maintain an independent order of battle for Soviet and national ground and air forces in East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and possibly western Russia.. IAS will be tasked to provide all essential imagery analysis art for this base. We estimate it will cost us about to establish 25X1 and keep current the East European data base in 74, and up to if western Russia is included.. Assuming the data bases are established in FY 74, we project it will cost us in 25X1 FY 75 to maintain the East European data base, and up to 25X1 if western Russia is included.
