in the distrIct office of Representative William Whitehurst (R., Va.),
called regarding a "professed superspy." She said a constituent
of Mr. Whitehurst' s, who formerly worked for the OSS and is now 72
years of Age and destitute, is trying to establish a credibility service
under Civil Service Reitrement for a period of service prior to his OSS
employment when he said he was working "under orders of the White
House." The constituent, (Social Security
Number has s ere a slight stroke which has left him
with some impairment of his facilities. Mrs. Howle mentioned that
a former Agency employee, had reportedly checked
on
Coleman's service and had verified it (although it was not clear whether
she was referring to OSS service or prior service). I told her we would
check into this and call her back.
