The proposed operating system (OS) realizes a simple tabular method of assignmertt control permitting organization of interface funetions in the MEK-488 standard and control of e~cecution of insteumental funetions. It is promising for application in microprocessor devices built into scientific instruments. 2 figures, references: 5. Developed at the Leningrad State Union Industrial Design Bureau (GSKTB) for Calculators, the "Is}ma" calculator series built with integrated circuits largely meets the needs of the cauntry's national econany for modern calculator s. 5 FOR UFFICIAL USE ONLY APPROVED FOR RELEASE: 2007/02/08: CIA-RDP82-00850R000300020033-0 APPROVED FOR RELEASE: 2007/02148: CIA-RDP82-44850R000300024433-4 rOR OFFIC?'AI. USti ONLY ~ The "Is~a" series of calculators have MOS IC's for their elenent base. 'I'?~e technical-economic characteristics of these circuits most fully meet the requir~nents of the calculatar~s for fast operation, degree of ~nte- gration and cost. The reliability of calculators using MOS IC's was enhanced by a sharp ' reduction in the number of elements in the machines (8-12-fold ) and by _ the reduction in the number of solders (2-3-fold ) and leads (abaut 2-fold The reduction in the number of Farts and assanbly connections made it possible to raise th~ technological effectiveness of calculators, imFmove _ their size-weight indexes, lowes costs and sharply increase autput of the machines in the country. Engine~ring the "Is}ma" sexies of calculators, based on standardized basic circuits and industrial design solutions, made it possible to obtain a great number of operational-technical advantages, including: - standardize~ nomenclature of calculator moclels for a wide range of camputational operations; unity of input languages and external software for the models; and the possibil.ity of setting up a centralized. network for calculatar repair in the USSR TsSU [Central Statistical Administration] systen. TYmee types of registers are used in the menory units of the "Islma" _ series of calculators. With the first type, the user can press special keys to stcme and recall initial data~ constants and calculation results. The second type of inenory register can stc~e input riumbess or calculation results with a"plus" or 'fiinus" sign in the correspondi.ng menory register autanatically or the use~r can press special keys for this. Manory contents can be recalled by pressing a special key. The third type is a stack register not accessible to the user for storage and recall. by using menory recall keys. The stack registers form a special calculator memory that works on the last in first out principle. Stack registe~xs make it possible to autamate evaluation of al.getmaic pxp~essions with regard to the conventional Fmi- ority for pxecution of op~rations [4] . The basic characteristics of the "Islma" series of machines are given in table 1.1. The simplest model is the "Is)ma-1103" (fig. 1.1) for s~mple economic planning and mathematical calculations. The machine performs addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on 12-digit numbers, as well as operations with a constant. _ _ f_..~.._. The basic design of the "Iskra-1103" is based on the common design elements (connectors , tubes , keyboards , etc. ) of th.e "Iskra-111" and "Iskra-122,~~ but differs substantially from them in principle of compos ition . 16 FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY APPROVED FOR RELEASE: 2007/02/08: CIA-RDP82-00850R000300020033-0 APPROVED FOR RELEASE: 2007/02108: CIA-RDP82-00850R000300020033-0 FOk OFFICIAL USE 01~T1.Y . . - _ ~ ~ ~ , r- ~ 'r' . i ~ ' ~ I s i ~ ; ' I~, G . ; - ~ i , ~ ~ ~ ~ ~:,x ~ ~ ~ ; J ~ ~ . ~ .
