SUBJECT : Remote Monitoring System

1. During the period February through May 1971 we conducted a
test of the Collins Digital Remote Receiving System. The test
involved an experimental mode of operations utilizing our antenna
field at and an operations and processing site
here in Key Building. It was sufficiently successful to warrant
further investment and experimentation overseas.
2. Attached are copies of report (Att. I) on
the experiment as well as a technical report on the equipment per se
from. (Att. II).
3. The system's greatest potential is in the future when
satellite canmunications costs may permit stateside utilization
of overseas antenna fields. In the interim its application will
probably be limited to situations in which we are establishing
