THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 1, The Partido Comunista Argentino (Argentine Communist Party; PCA) hap now returned to the line, previously advocated in vain by,Rodolfo Puiggros,1 that it can co-operate with Peron. Rodolfo Ghioldi, PCA leader, has fallen into disgrace with his Party. Although Ghioldi has not yet been expelled from the PCA, he has been relegated to a secondary position, and his place within the Party is uncertain. Ghioldins fall from power apparently is an indication of the new official PCA policy, 2, Towards the middle of November some members of the Central Committee of the PCA visited Angel Dorlenghi, Argentine Minister of Interior, in what was described as a very cordial meeting. These men requested less police persecution toward the PCA in general and fearer restrictive measures by the Argentine police in regard to Communist public meetings and the publi- cation of Communist booklets. In return, the delegates offered the full co-operation of the PCA in supporting the program of President Peron. The Argentine Government has taken no action as yet, however, concerning their offer. 3, Borlenghi has been advised by the Oficina de Coordinacion Federal, Federal Police counterespionage agency, that the PCA intends to increase the circu- lation of its official newspaper, Nuestra Palabraa, from 20,000 to 45,000, Juan Jose Real is in charge of administratioi for Nuestra Palabra. In mid=November Coordinacion Federal intercepted mail which showed the Central Committee of the PCA to be in contact with Victor Manuel eutierrez? Guatemalan Communist labor leader, and Manuel Fortuny, an important Guatemalan Communist leader. The PCA Central Committee is also in touch with a labor group in El Salvador called "El Comite Pro-Defensa de Derechos Laaboralesrl (The Committee for the Defense of Laboros Rights); an intellectual group called IIEl Cisne" (The Swan), also in El Salvador, but with cells in Panama and Guatemala.- and a student organization called I"El Grupo Estudiantil" (The Student Group).
