CD NO. 25X1 25X1 DATE DISTR. 29 December 1952 Collaboration Between the ABN and the "Hungarian NO. OF PAGES 2 Liberty Mavemept" 8 November 1952 NO. OF ENCLS. (LISTED BELOW) SUPPLEMENT TO 25X1 REPORT NO. THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 1. The Anti-YolsheVik Bloc of Nations (ABN) ,?a Mainly military anti-Communist organizatLon of Eastern European refugees, formed and directed by ,a group of Ukrainians, tries to dissimUlateby all means its Ukrainian character. The ARN-endeavors to enlist members from all the 15 nations enslaved by the Soviets, including China, but with the ekclusion of the POles; with whom the Dkratnians have unbridgeable differences. 2. One of the extreme right Hungarian dmigre. organizations, the so-called "Raagarian Liberty Movemeat", directed by General Francis Farkas, has collaborated -with the ABN since the beginning and enjoys a strong, almost favored position in the ARV among all other nationality groups. General Farkas was even elected head or the AENts military org nization. All the &ler Hungarian dMigr4 groups dislike the role played hyl General Farkas, and strongly object to the fact that he placed himself and his Hungarian splinter group ander an almost purely Slav leadership., which, in addition; is directed by the Okrainains, who are almost identical with the Rassians. Another objection is that the MN, though professing an anti-Communist ttitude, employs terroristic. methods and seems to favor a dictatorship in the futu.re. Thie, however, the ABN denies at present and asserts that they are opposed nr.ft only- to Bolshevism, but to every form of imperialism. 4. Despite criticisms of the other Hungarian 4migr4 groups, collaboration between General Farkast Hungarian Liberty Movement and the Ukrainian-led ABN becomes ever c1aq5er. In Great Britain, in the ABNcs youth group, Melchior Kiss is the most active tram among General Farkas', adherents; in Australia Zoltgn Mbrentey and Zoatecn "rmUsy are the leaders. The movement used to have some British support aad is avowedly anti-American. CLASSIFICATION SECRET!
