The ORPS publishes a daily newspaper}, True (labor), to which every union member must subscribe. The newspaper pursues a policy of praising Soviet labor and urging the Bulgarian workers to increase both the quality and quantity. of production by following the Soviet example. The KllIment Voroshilov Electrical. Equipment Factory in Sofia has a chapter of the Electrical Workerts Union, an affiliate of the ORPS;. members are issued an (BPS membership card. The chapter has nearly 3.9500. members,. slightly less than the total personnel of the factory; membership is "voluntary." The factory is subdivided, into 16 departments and each department has its own branch of the union. The smallest units of the union are brigades (brigada), each of Mich have a brigadier in charge. Each two brigades have a treasurer whosemain duty is to collect the union dues. The'brigade treasurers give the dues to the branch treasurer who gives the money to' the union treasurer for forwarding to the (B PS. union dries vary from one to two percent of the-members' monthly salary, depending upon the actual salary of the workers, that is, dues increase with salary.
