4. With regard to the order.a,previously reported, for range finders to be delivered
to the Seepolizei in Gdynia and Valkspolizei in Liegnitz$it has now been possible
to obtain a glimpse of the relevant entry in the order book in the section for
assembly of" large equipment in the main planning department (Planungshauptabteilung,
SachgebUett GGM Gross Geraete-,Montage),. the head of which is named Sessler. 2 Apart
from confirming the quantities and:. type of equipments the entry shows the order
to have been received from the Ministry of the Interior under Ordf No. iilQl d.I. 131
72/22/52, and in the "Place of delivery" column gives "SP Gdingen" and. '''IVP
Liegnitz" for the respective orders.

and is a type produced jointly by Zeiss and Askenia-Werke,. Teltow,during the war.
Zeiss made the mechanical precision parts and Askania the electric, components.
The apparatus consists of a transmitter which sends out short-wave impulses at
fixed intervals), and a three-pole cable (ipolige Leitung) around the hips
hull below the water line. The equipment used during the war was mostly fitted
onto-smaller craft such as E-boats and mines sweepers.

6. a special version of'the air gunnery trainer is to built
as a 53- n ng ,rainer. It is basically similar to the existing trainer as
already reportedi but lacks the projectors and_IMion picture screen--nnd has
special panel instruments with double indicators. One set of indicators can be
set by the instructor to conform with conditions of flight which he requires the
pupil to simulate; the second set responds. to' the controls..W the correct
manipulation of which by the pupil 'causes both sets of indicators to coincide.
Rebuilding of the south wcs
The target date of 15 May 1952 for completion of the rebuilding of the south works
was i tt as far as the building itself was concernedt but it was not found
possible to complete the installation of special machinery to enable production
to recommence by that date ras had been desired:. The more - important item, still
to be installed are:
ao the electric moths for the long=spindle lathes, to be delivered by MM
Hallesche Pumpenwerker Halle.
bo the electric components for the light-reflex testing apparatus for testing
and adjusting periscopes and long-base range finders; these components to
be delivered by Askania.
the assembly mechanism (Zug- unci Puehrungseinrichtung) for the periscope
tunnel., to be delivered by Bleichert, pf Leipzig.
Range finders:
8.. Because of the delay in completing the light-reflex testing apparatus) it is
doubtful whether a cturrentt order for long-base range finders can be completed
by the target date..

Periscopes.
9. It-,is planned that the periscope heads shall be cote- letely assembled in the
subsidiary Zeiss works at Weimar and then sent to Jena, where the periscope
shafts will be built and final assembly carried out. The work in Weimar will
commence when the periscope tunnel in Jena is ready and the complete periscopes
can be assembled.
Searchlights.
10. With regard to the searchlights on which, as already reported, work has
commenced in.Zeiss, it is now provisionally planned that final assembly
will be carried out by Signalbau Halle 4 and that Zeiss will produce only
the concave mirrors and the blinker device (Streifenklappenscheiben fuer
Tag -und Nach .emxdeo) .
