THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION.
On 15 July 1952 the People's Liberation Army N&Ws contained a circular which commended
HUANG Hsien-ku (7806/7359/7711), commander of tr_o 1 Armored Division, and YANG Yung.
sung (2799/3057/2646), deputy political commissar of that division, for their
outstanding achievements in Korea. This circular is summarized as follows-
a HUANG Hsien..ku, commander of the 1 Armored Division, aided Korea by leading
his men in combat with the Americans for over a years He demonstrated excellent
combat tactics in battle, and delivered deadly blows to the enemy. While his
unit was undergoing replacement and regrouping, he maintained brotherly relations
with the Korean troops and people, thus demonstrating the high quality of Chinese
Communist Party members and of the Communist Army. Consequently, he has been
decorated with Second Class of the Freedom-independence Medal by the Democratic
People's Republic of Koreas
b, YANG Yung-sung, deputy political commissar of the 1 Armored Division, achieved
a notable record in assisting the direction of combat operations and in raising
the political consciousness of the troops. At the Korean front he set himself
as an example in enforcing the Eight Disciplinary Rules of the People's Revo-
lutionary Army, thus earning the sincere good will of the Korean people for
the Chinese people and the Chinese people's armed forces. Consequently., the
Revolutionary Military Council has resolved to circularize this commendation
for him.
