1o In early May the Chinese Communists were operating radar stations at poiats
YD~-31O633 near Kurhae-ri (125-38, 38-30) (yC-3O64) and YD-282550 near
Chaechlon?ni (125-36, 38-25) (YC-2755), Approximately 500 Chinese Commu:iist
soldiers with five ZIS trucks were attached to the Kurhae-ri station. Thirty
Chinese Communist soldiers with four ZIS trucks were attached to the
Chaech'on?ni station..
2. Both radar iris taallations were encircled with straw ropes covering a
circ-umference of about 700 meters o Two signs saying "No trespassing" and
"Any intruders will be shot" were -hung on 'the rope o During the day two
.soldiers patroled the area, and at night five guards armed with machine
guns stood guard a
The radar equipment in both places was housed in tents which were covered
with mud and grass. The anter aey, rectangular in shape, protruded from
the tents.
