Dro j:ans Klein a former Nazi and a naturalized citizen has said
that he is being persecuted by the
University. D.ro Klein, who is a lecturer at Juivers y, so,says
that this action on.t'hke part of the Secretary-General apparently has official
approval.
The + r iversity has red .ced Dr. Klein from special class to .first class
official a:ud has also denied hishome leave to which he says he is entitled o
in addition. the University has requested Dr. Klein to refund. _30,000 baht in
salary paid to-him at the upen market rate for pounds sterling after which the
m .ey woulc be paid back to him at the official rate. He would lose about
5 ,,000 ?baht in this transaction.
lJr o Klein and a. half dozen other foreign lecturers I
pan to submit a joint
protest to .the 'niversity authorities. Dr?e Klein says. that the campaign is a
deliberate attempt to ride them out of the University.
Comment a The fniversity may be trying,to get rid of Dr0 Klein because
e s a trouble-maker and, he has a persecution. complex. However, it may-:
all be a part of an anti-foreign campaign.
