According to a decision of the Ministry of Light Industry, all Hungarian Textile factories had to make increased use of their machine capacity as from l April 1952. For example, machines producing plain woven cloth have now to work at 200 rpm, and those producing patterned cloth at 180 rpm. 2. The Ministry has also ordered that 960 grammes of cotton yarn.is to be produced from each kg. of"raw cotton treated. This has led the textile factories to spin their yarn without any further ginning. 3. The production of the largest Hungarian textiles factory Keltex on the Budafoki ut,. Budapest, now amounts to 1+0,000 m. per day. Of this quantity, half is for the home market and the other half for export. I+ The new cotton. spinning factory at KaposvAr began production in: all depart- ments on I'May 1952.. The factory is not, however, yet working at full capacity. All work on the construction of the first cellulose factory-in Hungary for the production of cellulose from straw at JAszbereny, was suddenly suspended at the end of"April 1952, without any reason being given.
