THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION 25X1 1, Preliminary work was begun at the Konin mines in late July 19510 In October, due - to the lack of fitters in the available pumps employed there, the mine became unworkable through flooding, be geologically disturbed and only further drillings can show whether thi project will ever become a workable proposition. Its planning department of the Main Admi..Taistsation Coal (HV Kohie) of the DDR Ministry of Coal and Power, - -has in!rmed ie '?ol s i suio ?ities that it will be unable to produce a usable' scheme for the development of the Rog I otaohnov (sic) brown coal mine in Lodz on the basis of the data obtained through the six drillings carried out so fare The planning department of HV Kohle has requested the Polish a1thorities to carry out at least 200 drillings more in the ? area, as this would be the minimxm data required for the development of arq project. The geological data based on the original six drillings shows that the lignite seams, of which there are three at different levelsq measure a total thickness of 35 Meters. Based on the same datap it has so Par been estimated that the totem: amount of lignite available in the area is 600 million metric tore, and that the ratio of surface earns to lignite equals 5g1.
