On 19 June 1952 Democracia, Chilean Communist publication, carried an ar-
ticle with the headline,. "Germans in Chile Do Not Accept the Domination
of Their Country." The article described conditions in the Western Zone
of Germany and ended .by inviting an Germans who agreed with-the Communist
position to get in touch in person or by letter with Democraciaa Calle
Valentin Letelier 1336, Santiago.
It appears that there is a group of German Communists in Chile who have
-contact with the Russian and German Communists in the Eastern Zone of
Germany. The-Chilean group is being maintained in great secrecy and is
attempting to get in touch with other German Communists by means of the
invitation published in Demo ercia. The article was rii.;ten by members
of the German group. Replies to the invitation reportedly are forwarded
by Docracia to the group.in Chile.
The name of the group, its address, number of members., and purpose have not
yet been determined.
