The Partido Comunista de Colombia (PCC) has made a public attack on the actions of the Conservative Government and also against the Liberal Party Directorate. The PCC eulogizes and sympathizes with the guerri4a bands fighting theoaghout Colombia. The significance of the campaign is that it is made openly in the name of the PCC.1 The attack appears in a three-page leaflet, "Manifesto del Partido Comunista", dated May 1952, which is reportedly receiving nationwide distribution. 2. The leaflet opens with a charge against Mariano Ospina Perez. "In November. of 1949, the hypocritical and fraudulent Ospina Perez sac- oeeded in gaining complete control of the country through a coup duetat. Ile dismissed Congress and abolished the departmental assemblies and dvelared the country under a state of seige. In this manner the people lost their government of democratit principles, by which Colombians have been ruled for years.. After ?spina Perez came Laureano Gomez, who has pushed Colombia further along the road to chaos and terrorism." 3. The leaflet says 2 "The eountry is confronted with a terrible situation, the Liberal Party Directorate has sold out to the imperialists and has fargetten all about its followers." 4. It then goes on to say, "From the masses of the people of Colombia aros a group which was willing to fight against the brutal persecution by the government. The Partido Comunista de Colombia calls to these valiant fightere? the guerrill a om the llanos, Tolima, Antioquia, Cundinamarca, and ether regions, to maintain their fight against the dictator without falling into silly adventurea and disorganized criminal Acta. It asks you to tiglt against the political deceit demonstrated by the Liberal Party Directorate." The Partido Comunista de Colombia (PCC) is currently trying to enlist the services of a group of women to visit the families of soldiers who are fighting with the Colombian ,Battalion in Korea or who are in train- ing to go there. The PM plan is to have these women explain to the fAmily of the soldier that he is fighting for an dnjust cause. The PCC hopes that the parents will then persuade their sons not to fight. 2. The Pro-Peace Committee of the PCC is also issuing a call to all left- ist lawyers to Jan in the denunciation of the "bacteriological war- fare" being waged by United Nations Forces in Korea.
