southwesterly direction. The trucks 'sere occupied by 300 to. 400
unarmed troops wearing red-bordered black eraulcts including some
with motor transport insignia. About half the trucks carried
billeting equipment, and the others were empty. At noon on 23 Tay
the Garde du Corps 1-sserne on Stalin Allee was vacant and new
billeting equipment vas hauled to the installation. Local residents
said that the ins';allation would be occupied by Volkspolizei. (1)
