The Kumaritsa airfield, located near Sofia, was completed on 7 November 1951,
.The main runway is 100 meters wide and 3,000 meters long. Construction details
at the field are the same as those at the Bezmer airfield.
No planes are based at the Kumaritsa airfield, but various types land and leave
daily. Ten jets were at the field for the parade on 1 May 1952.1
There are 100 air troops at the field- Buildings and fuel dumps are being
constructed by 400 trudovaksa2
