1? At the beginning of December 1951 new hydraulic presses v re delivered
to the ll Werke in Eisenach. These Tresses are to be used in the manu-
facture of steel larding mats for Soviet airfields in Germany. The mats
are arrroximetely 3 x 4 meters in size. Fy 1 February 1952, 35,000 of
these mats are to be produced.
2.. 11MG1 Eisenach has a backlog of 700 partially finished vehicles. S'1-artagep
of precision parts, especially carburetors, have caused bottlez &-s is
vehicle rroducfiion at this plant.
3. The former Thiel V
Werke in reehach near Ruhla, destroyed during the war,
are to be rebuilt and operated as a subvidiary of Zeiss Jena. The dead-
line for the corp,etion of the reconstruction project is I Nay 1952.
Three thousand laborers are reportedly at work at the rroject. %
4. In Gera numerous streets were evacuated in order to house the adwini-
etration of Wismut i\G, its clerical. staff and workers. It is reported
that the main administration of Wismett is to he transferred to Weida.
Living srlace for 5(0 rersons is required in Weida and In preparation
for the move, two homer for the aped are being evacuated.
5. On 17 or I January 1952 the village of Ratzerrdorf was hurriedly evacu -
a.teri. After the last inhabitant had been cleared outythe village was
dynamited. Wismut-Rergbau is reported to be planning the start of operations
in this area.
