CHONG J3ong-sokwas an independent candidate for election as a represent-
ative-of-South Korea to the North Korean. Supreme People's Assembly in 1950.
CH[S Min ,s- secretary of the North Korean Theater and Cinema Commission.
(Possibly a different translation of the organization named in the present
report.)
NO Song-t "aek, was formerly North Korean Min star of Labor and commander
of North Korea guerrillas in the RCKo However, it has been -often, reported
that t he ',s in disgrace and was expelled from the North Korean Party in
December 1950 because of his failure toorganize the guerrillas effectively.
KIL Chins p, like CHONG Hang~sok and others listed in this report, was
also a candidate from South Korea in the North Korean People's Assembly
elections in 1950. The elections were sponsored by the North Korean
government to support its claim to represent all of Korea > He was an
independent.
KIM Nam-eh'an was a candidate in the same elections as a representative
of the South Korean-Federation of Cultural Organizations o
KIM Uk was a candidate in the same elections as a representative of the
Christian Democratic League
KIM Won-wpong; Baas 'Minister of National Inspection in early 1951, and one
of those asked by PAK Hon-gong to support his bid for leadership in North
Korea. He is a former South Korean.
PAK Chun-y"
ng was an independent candidate from South Korea in the 1950
elections in-North-Korea,
PAK" X76ng su . A PAK : .u was a captain in charge of culture and
propaganda for the North Korean 60 Guerrilla Unit near the 38th parallel
in May 1951,
PAK Semyong.A PAK Se.-y&ng was a candidate in the 1950 elections in North
Korea as a representative of tlae National Council of labor-Unions,
YIM ibm is Moscow-trained, and is deputy chairman of the Soviet-Korean
Cultural.-Association . He is a trusted--H6 Ka-i follower
YUN Sang-yai was in charge of adaptation in the North Korean National
Movie Studios in 1948.
I Comment. The-term "representative" is ambiguous and is not ex.
plaited.` Note, however, that where- the- same, or possibly
the same, organizations are referred to-in paragraph 2 as are listed in
paragraph 1, the officials are not the same, and therefore the term
"representatives9" probably refers to delegates from these' organizations
to some North Korean meeting and is not another term for chairman or
chief.
