1. As of 1 January 1952, the following airfields in the Russian Zone of Germany
were suitable for Tu-1 operations: 1. Briesen (Brand), 2. Werneuchen,
3. Zerbst, 4. Brandenburg-Briest, 5 Laerz, 6. Parchim, 7. Pdtnitz, 8. Welzow,
9. Altenburg, 10. Alt L8nnewitz, 11. Cottbus, 12, Dessau, 13. Finow, 14. Finster-
walde, 15. Grossenhain, 16. Jfterbog, 17. Merseburg, 18. Neubrandenburg,
19. Neuruppin, 20, Oranienburg, 21. Peenem-ffnde, 22. Sch8nefeld, and 22. Wittstock.
2. All of these fields have runways over 6,500 feet long. Fields numbered 1
through 8 have runways over 7,800 feet long.
Fields numbered 1 through 3 are fully operational for Tu - lis. Fields numbered
4 through 8 have sufficient runway length but insufficient parking facilities.
The remainder are operational for Tu - 14s in a very limited degree since
there are no parking facilities and the runways are not long enough for
Tu -is carrying maximum load. Additional hardstands about 110 feet in
diameter are to be constructed at Briesen, Werneuchen, and Weizow in the
spring of 1952. .
