la The Silistea airdrome is being enlarged and improved. Two new airstrips are
being laid downs both designed for jet-propelled planes.
2. A training school for pilots is reported to be under construction at an
unspecified point in the Buzau district, somewhere between the Buzau and
Silistea airdromes.
Soviet planes are reported to be using a hitherto unidentified airstrip
at Popeati-Leurdeni, near Bucharest.
4 At Bujor, in the Covurlui district, a former German dump (aviation bombs)
from World War II has been put back into use.
An underground explosives plant is under construction at Simeria, in the
Hunedoara district.
