on 20 December 1951, the Chinese Comma:nist foreign trade office in Canton
formally established a branch office at 67 Second Lane, Heing Wing Road,
West in Nanning. The Nanning office was given responsibility for coordinat-
ing the operations of all RNangsi trading organizations dealing in ores
and other products of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV).
2. With a staff of 180 persons, the Nanning office was given control of
branches at Chennankuaa (lo6-li, 21-58) and Ch'inchou (108-37, 21-58)?
3. Trade commissioners of the DRV in Nanning and the staff of the MV Ministry
of Economic Affairs Foreign Trade Administrative Office were also moved into
the office at the above address in Nanning. Henceforth, all trade between
Coamunist China and the DRV is to be controlled by the above offices.
