1. 1,'hen the Polish troops from Ciechanow (R 53/x: 76) returned to their post from the
1950 fall maneuvers, they were marching in the following order: a sedan with
officers; three soldiers on horseback; several units on foot, with each unit being
led by an officer; a main body of mounted troops; horse-drawn covered supply
vehicles; and about 10 trucks,, which carried from 2 to 10 soldiers each and towed
some field kitchens. The number of soldiers could not be determined. However, the
mounted troops considerably outnumbered the soldiers on foot. All troops, both on
