Reportedly, a large number of dei-ortees from the Banat have been brought
to the Lake Tasaul project. This construction project which was started
during the summer of 1950 is apparently to be an auxiliary naval base.
The initial construction work indicates that underground and suomarine
shelters are planned. Reportedly, the plans are to include a canal connecting
the lake with Cape Midia; the dike $t the latter point is to be extended
to protect the entrance to the canal,., allowing it to be approached only
from the south.
