1. The following represents the weekly instructions issued by the Tehran Tudeh
Provincial Committee to Party members under the jurisdiction of District Committee
No. 7 (Southeast Tehran) for the week beginning 17 November 1951. 1
a. Report the number of workers in your place of vork. How mar are permanent
workers? How many are temporary workers? rive the maximum and minimum
wage rates paid. Report the name of the employer and his relatives.
b. Report the names of influential and reliable persons in your work area and
your neighborhood. Also describe all actions and activities there with
respect to the forthcoming elections. Mention names.

d. Membership dues should be paid for the period up to 30 October 1951.

g. Membe:'s should write letters to the Police protesting the closing of the
Salad. Theater.

1. Comment. See for another version of what purports to be
c o-n or the same period. As will be noted, there is
very little in common, except style, in these two reports. It is possible
that d:.fferent District (Mahalli) Committees receive slightly different
instructions. This thesis is further borne out by frequent warnings against
specific persons such as police agents, etc., in the weekly orders. Such
individuals would appear to be of local interest to specific District Committees
lucatt3d in the same part of town and could not logically be expected to
appear in Partywide instruction circulars. Or it is possible that informant
familiar with the general style of the instructions, is fabricating them.
