NO I CIi aCI 25X1X LUPPLEMEN'T TO RLPORT NO. 1. Although the fine looms (DFL) of Pabst and K 1].ian, Rag?., were not transferred to THWA.Neastadt when the T]UA.Raguhn fine screen looms were transferred, Pabst and Kilian discontinued making No. 231 screen at that time. * Instead,, Pabst and Kilian is making screen from an artificial fiber called P-C~-U fiber. It was developed from chloride of lime (Chlork?lk) and ear, bon at AGFA.. 1olfen where large quantities of this fiber have been produced during the past three months. By means of a spraying process (Spritzverfahren), eight fibers of a minimum thickness of 0?3 mm plus or minus 10% are produced in one work stage,. The main characteristics of this fiber are its resistance to heat up to 600 Celsius, its high resistance to acids, and a high tensile strength. In lieu of bronze screens, screensnmade from this fiber are ustA in the paper industry for extracting water (Entwasserung) from cellulose; in the building industry, for Rabitz screen; and in general use, for mosquito swz eening. 2. With a crew of 175 working at some 55 looms in two shifts daily, Pabst and Kilian have a monthly output of from 25,000 to 30,000 t?quare meters of P-?C..U screen, The bulk of this production is for the manufacture of paper machine cloth width from 1 to 3-meters and a length of 30-meters. Sixty percent of the total output goes to the Russians. 3. Pabst and Kilian 'has on hand about three tons of phosphor bronze wire of a thickness of 0.050 0?065, 0008, and 0.10 mm and an unspecified quantity of rough brass (ttessing) wire of a thickness of 0.17 mm. Both the bronze wire and the brass wire were supplied by Hettstedt (SAG Marten), but are of such 2po Aquality that they cannot be used. * osmaents The date is not specified.
