:Following renewed anti-government activities on the Dart of the workers,
the number of arrests has increased. Wthin~,thp

have been arrested: 35 in Ruse and 30 in Chervenatoc a:, In the Hubrat
district, an attempt was made to assassinate the chief of police, The
Dimitra Atasanov (sic) resistance group is located in the same region.
Recently this group engaged in a violent! skirmish with police forces., The
fight lasted several hours after which time the police forces retreated
leaving behind several dead. Similar skirmishes took place in Sanmokov and
Ml rev where a group of 40 men had fled to the forests.,
