1o A motor vehicle fuel depot is under construction about 1.5 Irma, south of the
railroad station at Tronoona, (1150/105) and about 80 m? from the Orlik
station (r150/L05), whore the woods have boon cleared for the pro.ji act
Foundations for the buildings had already been started in November 1950,
About 22 workers were originally employed to do the work, but since
1 June 1951 the number has boon doubled. By 28 May 1951 all the
excavations for the underground fuel tanks had been due and lined with
reinforced concrete and work on the pumping station had been started. At
the same time construction of a stone wall around the depot was begin and
digging was started on foundations for another part of the depot
2 W The fuel tanks are placed three motors underground , They are 2.20 m. in
diameter, 8 n. long and are lined with sheet iron 10-12 mm. thick,*
Each tank is rzovided with two manholes 50 cm. in di.ameter0 The tanks
have an estimated capacity of 600,9000 .. 700,OOO liters or 3.30,000 - 150,9000
gallons, There are 20 or 22 tanks altogether, and they are built very close
to one another so an to rxresent a reasonably small target in the event of
air attack. The ground over the tanks is covered with 0,8 cm. of sand
3? At present the only access to the depot is the road from, the Orlik railroad
station or the main rood from Pilsen to Tromosna. A railroad track is to
be laid from the Orlik station to facilitate the delivery of gasoline and
naphtha,,
