1. Kolocep Island is situated east of Lopud Island and west of Dubrovnik. With
Lopud Island it closes the Kolocepska Vrata (Kolocep Doors); and with the
Lapad Feninsula, between Dubrovnik and Gruz, and the small island of Daksa,
it closes the Velika Vrata (Big Doors).
2. As is the case with Lopud Island, Kolocep Island serves chiefly as a summer
resort. In the Gornje Solo (Upper Villa-re) Section the resting home of the
Federal Planning Commission is located.
3. The Kolocepska Vrata are closed by a mine field comprising three rovrs of
mines, laid in a checkered manner at about 50 motors from each other. No
passage has been left thro'.igh Kolocopska Vrata.
4. The Velika Vrata had been closed by a mine field laid between Kolocep and
Daksa Islands, but this field has been completely cleared and the largest
ships Are free to pass.
