1, There was an airfield 3 ima cast of Vrchlabi (0 51/0 55)s just north of the
highway to 1 rostr.Lanov (0 51/G 55). T,:e field bordered on a wooded area
to the north, iseadoar were to the west and east al,-x. a hi .hway ti the
south. Th: landinf; field covered an aree of about 800 x 600 meters.. Two
hangars, one about 30 x 15 :;ietcrs and the other 20 x 15 meters were observed
gn the southern portion of field.
2, Chief pilot of the field was one tJhiir, (fnu), about 35 rears old an.1 1.80 cm
tall. ! ccordinf_ to his staterimts, 2 Sokol type planes, about 8 powered air-
craft 1:' ciders, ,nc 1 helicopter were stationed at the field. Military
Lraininf? was also se ic: to be conducted there. Soldiers who wore blue uniforms
