the production of alcohol.

1. Out uts The factories and installations for alcohol have a theoretical
capacity of 4000 "wagons" yearly. In 1949 the production fixed by the
Plan, of 28500 "gone" was reached. Of these 2,000 were used locally
and 500 vere exported. But in 1950 the production fixed by the Plan,
of 3,000 "wagons," vat not reached, according to source, who believes
this was the fault of%he drought."
2. Price of the Products,.
The not cost of the alcohol is 120 Lei per liter (58 Lei cost of pro.
duction and 62 Lei cost of administration). It is sold on the local
market at a price of 600 Lei per liter.
In 1949 alcohol was sold to the Russians at a price of 18 American
cents a liter. This price was lower than prices on the world market
and much lower than the net cost of production.
