THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1, Nal= ,Lirxmotaki, owner of a furniture store on Avenida Brasil in Belo
Horizonte, is reported to be a militant Communist and director of the
activities of the Communist Party of Brazil (FCR) among the Syrian-
Lebanese colonies in Einae Gerais. Lipovetski was born in the Ukraine
on 10 September 1882, son of Abraham and Rachel Lipovetski. He arrived
in Brazil on 18 October 1913, and resides at Rua Contagem 789 in Belo
Horizonte. He has three children, Jaime, Guilherme, and Israela all
of whom are reported to be well-indoctrinated-and militant Communists.
LipoVetaki himself is extremely reserved an careful in his connections
with the FCB and carries on a great deal of his work through his eldest
son, JaiMe, a Party fanatic who has been arrested more than 20 times
and has on oeveral occasions teen severely beaten by the police for
his Communist activities. Jaime resides with hie wife on Rua Fara #300
in a house which is reported to be overflowing with all types of
Communist propaganda.
2. Lipovetski's principal task for the Party is to insure that. Syrian
-
Lebanese merchants throughout the state make rege3er contributions to
the Party treasury. This group reportedly contains the most generous
donor., and can be counted upon for the utmost loyalty to the Party.
For this purpose, the Lipovetskis have set up an organization which
&ante the Syrian-Lebanese colonies in Minas Gerais and also extends
into Goias. Habib Chuaire, a Lebanese resident of Uterlandia, covers
the Minas Triangle and the western part of Minas Gerais on behalf of
this group. He is assisted by Jose Coprosli, who is of Syrian descent
and who maintaimo liaison with Syrian-Lebanese elements in Goias through
Zaki ihraao and Abrahao Joao Abraao, residents of Goiania. Liaison
between Belo Horizonte and the Synian-Lebaneee c9lony in the eastern
part of the state is carried on by Miguel Haddad, well-known Communist.
It is said that both Chuaire and Hadded are close friends of Luis
Carlos Prestes.2
3. Another Communist resident of Polo Horizonte is Mute Goifun,3 known to
be one of the leading Jewish PCP members in the state and a steady.

allowed to return to Bra411. He went to Belo gorizonte and opened a
furniture se.)re on Rua Guarani #55, above which he resides with his
wife and two children,

and his sister both attended the Second World Youth Congress In Prague
in August 1950 Jaime is one of the financial and propaganda directors
of the Fovinento do Ajudp a Imprensa Demoeratica (MOvement to Vid the
Democratic Press - VAID)-' in the state of }lines Gerais.
