1. During the 9 September 1951 Parliamentary elections in Greece, officials
of the EDA (United Democratic left) in Nea Ionia, suburb of Athens, se-
lected a committee whose task it was to report the progress of the elec-
tions. Fa,nagiotis Gotsinas headed this committee and was assisted by
Vasilios Pfiarrgaritis, lakovos Fapadopoulos (a druggist), Elias Kasimatis
.and George iarabinis (a tailor),
2. During election day Gotsinas remained in Margaritis' house in Nea Ionia
He used, Achilles Frinopoulos, Nicholas F pavlou and Elias Tsougranas, an
old-time KK,g member, as couriers.
George Spiliopoulos, Neocosmos Gregoriades and Vasilios Ephraimides,1 who
were candidates on the EDA ticket for Athens, each visited Gotsinas alane
during election day. Ephraimides gave Gotsinas the following list, taken
from the EDA slate for Athens,2 of candidates recommended by him:
