while King Taltal was in Srritzerland (before
ascending the Jordanian throne on 6 September 1951) Prince Ila' if was
conspiring in 'Amr.n to seize the throne. The following individuals
wore involved in the plot with Na' if s Jalis Bey Ma jali, ow wander of
the Ilashimite Regiment; Shaykh Auxin Shanqiti; I uhenniad Shurayki; and
Falah Uadadhaho 1
2. The I3ashirdte Reg ent, which is garrisoned in 'Anton, was to have
effected a. coup d' etat, arresting the mothers of the Council of
Ministers. T' ti ` i31 t had succeeded, )uhwmaad Shurayki would have
become head of the Jordanian Army.
3. The plot tins discovered by,Tal' al's wife who vas told about it by
one of the maidservants in the Royal Palace. Tale al' a wife iz aediately
notified Tal' ale who informed Prime Llinister Tax fiq Pasha Abu.a1-Ruda.
who then Uot in touch withGlubb Pasha.
4. Glubb Pasha broke up the plot by ordering the Ilashimito Regiment to
dispatoli some of its units to various parts of Jordan; he then dispersed
the remaining units.
6o The Jordanian Government took the necessary stops to maintain order and
sent Sat id Pasha Mufti to Switzerland to informant Tale a3. of the situa-
tion and to insist that he return irxiediately to take, the throne.
King Tall al knows who his enemies are and will
attempt to get rid of them within a short time. As a proof of this*
Falah Madadhah has already been ousted from the
Jordanian Cabinet,
