Three non-cos?nissioned officers of the Yugoslav Air Force reportedly absconded from the airfield at Djevd jeli ja in a YAK fighter plane on 3,3 May 1951. Lt General 1adovan Vukanovic, the corzmanding ,general of the : alitary District of Skoplje, I ediately ordered a thorough investigation which resulted in the arrest of a certain t is. jor Tra jkovic, the corr-anding officer of the Djevdjelija airfield, on the charge that he had aided the three deserting non-corm issloned officers. 2. According to source, on 22 Ifay 1951 four cadets from the Technical Air Force 'chool at Lajlovac, near rarajevo, deserted because they had wounded one of their instructors, Lt. Iiha jlo I3uric. Notwithstanding a thorough search and a rigid Investigation the deserters were not apprehended b : ya jor Boris L.rusic, the corrrianding officer of the school, i+as relieved of his corr-?a nd and ordered to appear before the General I; &dquarters of the Air Force at Zemun wherc he ,as personally interrogated on the incidents 3. On the nigh of 21 :ay 1951, at approxi"'ately 2200 hours, it is reported that a fire b:oke out in the aeronautical section of the Central Library for the Yugoslav Argj, tiahich is located on 29 Pdovember x treet '.a. 4, in Belgrade. This section of the Library which is used by the Air Force contains technics?, publications on aerormauttcs and the aeronautic industry and about 200 of tlese books as well as 5 cases of archives were allegedly destroyed. The night watchman, Konrad .enezic, was arrested followinLl tl.e incident.
