During Au ,tat 6,000 civilian laborers were recruited to construct a barbed
erire fence around Ithite Cloud Airfield and to dig a trench one doter deep
outside the fence. Ton pill boxes are now being built around the airfield
perimeter. Five additional searchlights wern installed in fixed -,ositions and
ten more were-mounted on jeeps for nobility. All the searchlights were
made in a Soviet factory named Tlgi-t 1B-Ia~u ( J ). Radar is now
installed at the south end of the airfield and two soviet technicians
are in charge.
