1. In late August the Government Admin.1stration Council of the Chinese Communist
Government announced that as of 1 September all large and small firms dealing
with metals must register their stocks at local government offices in charge
of registration and receive permission from this office and from the metal
union (sic) before closing any transactions.
2. On 1 September the Hsieh TVung Ho (VA iu t6l) Machine Shop, Ilan Rua ~ )
Road, in the Ronal district of Canton, was manufacturing enough steel l tte
for armor for 500 motor junks. Plates are .3 inches thick and 2 feet 5.8
wide.
