The East Slovakian Hydroelectric Poa~er Station (VSE) Krompachy
1(H49/EO6) , is located at the bend of the Hornad River, Just north
of the town and on the left side of the SPIsskka Via.chy (R49/D97)-
Krompachy highway,.. The station is the largest and mo,:it mPortaa t
power plant in eastern Slovakia, supplying as it does nearly all
of the heavy industry in that area and even parts of northeastern
Hungary,,
2, A. canal leading from the river feeds the two turbines which are
housed astride the canal,, Usually only one of the turbines is
in operation and the other is kept in reserve: The source did
not know the kilowatt-hour output of the station,
