I. Prior to 14 April 1951, the CS battalion in Bela nad Radbuzou (weissensulz)
(N So/P 52) was subordinate to the PS brigade headquarter- which was
located in Pohezovi_ce (1 5o/p 61) and commanded by "?ajor Herian, (fns.} n
2. The PS, battalion in Bela nad? Itadbuzou had Utvar 11o 6654 and was cornranded
by Lieutenant Be.k, (fnu). Its 1st Co was located in J ?isencdorf (.1 5011
52), the 2d Co in Dianaberg (1-1 SO/P 52) the 3d Co in risendo fska Hut
(11 SO/P 51), the path Co in Plea (I'loessij (N 5'0/1' 51), and the 5th Co in
Vaclav (',enzelsdorf) (11 SO/P 51), The ccmpaniea were interconnected by
telephone.
3. The 3d Co in -0isendorfska Hut had Utvar Ho 6606 and n :bered lei soldiers,
including 27 recruits inducted on 1 October 1950. it was quartered in a
form.or inn. About 60 percent of the personnel were Slovaks and hO percent
Czechs. Two dogs belonged to the unit. The company had model 98-41 rifles,
im dels 48-A and he-p, submachine gtuns, model 26 light machine guns and
Czech eggshaped hand grenades. The r,it nal equipment included l portable
switchboard with 20 telephone connections and 3 German field telephones.
The company possessed 1 model soda--Tudor passenger car and 1 model Java
motorcycle. The border sector of the PS company vas controlled by two
patrols of 3 Lien each, rho only occasionally had does with them. There
were no watchtowers or obstacles in the sector of the coxnpanyp
4. There were. informers in all squad rooms whose mission was the supervision
of the politically unreliable. There was little interest in the tv4o hours
of political indoctrination per day, which had most the opposite
ef.'ect to what it was intended. The personnel secretly critisiGed the
political conditions in milita.xy and civilian life.
5o Basic trainiag began in Thranov (Trasenau) (11 501F 70) from 1 to 15 October
1950 and was continued in Hostoun (Hostau) (.1 50/P 61) until 23 December
1950. R.ecoxd firing practice with all arms was held about seven times
near Bela .nad Radbuzou.
