1. People in the Lom area have been pressured to join the TKZS (kolkhoz) and those
reluctant to do so have been harassed and punished. The authorities take all
their production' give them no seed for the next crops, and then force them
to pledge so much production; or they frighten or beat them in the police
stations and inform them that such treatment will continue until they join.
Members of the DSIWM (Dimitrov Union of Peoples Youth) have been conducting
secret nocturnal exercises training them for possible anti-guerrilla
activity in case of wa.r and also for action as guerrillas in the event a
foreign army enters Bulgaria.
3. There is an unidentified anti-tank unit and two other army units of unknown
size or arm stationed at Lora.
