1. In early August 1951 strategic war materials were being smuggled to China
from Malaya by way of Bangkok, gong along and iuiaoao, in spite of the official
embargo. One Bangkok group engaged in this traffic included the shipping
company of I IEN Chen-thing (, ~ ) and SU Yung-k' uei (, ) .

) Shipping Service Company; and KUO Chih-oh' iu ($ ' 41, ). This
group had a tacit agreement with some unidentified Thai officials whereby
they were able to smuggle war contraband without fear of arrest.
Ch?ienshan (113-32, 22-14) and was stored in hUANG Sen's residence in .Aacao.l
The proceeds of the sale of this opium were to go to support Chinese
Communist intelligence activities in Laoao, and to buy military supplies for
Communist China.

3. On 20 August ounces of opium were sent to Macao from Canton by the
Chinese Communist authorities in Canton. The opium was shipped by way of
early August.
2. In mid-August 10 army trucks and 700 tons of steel plates, gasoline and
spare parts for trucks were sent to Kwangsi 'rrovince from Yulin Harbor by
way of Ilaik?ou and Chanchiang (10949, 2254) on three Chinese Communist
cargo vessels. These supplies had been obtained from Japan by bartering
Hainan iron ores through business channels, and had arrived at Yulin in
4. On 11 July 1951 the following numbers of pro-Communist bellhops were discharged
from hotels in Hong Kong: 70 from the h ong Kong Hotel, 40 from the Repulse Bay
hotel, 10 from the Peninsula hotel, and 3 from the Lido Hotel.
5. During July 70 labor agitators were sent to Hong Kong from Canton. A free
clinic for leftist laborers was established at 501 Canton Road, first floor,
