1, The Chinese Communist 769 Divisionl of the 3 Field Army is 2 miles
southwest of Tanch? on (126-54., 40-27) (DV 9277) n This unit has 120 trucks
making shuttle runs at night from Songjin to Taneh'on.
2,. Heavy night traffic has been reported on the roads between Songjin, Hamhung;
Harhung, Wonsan; Wonsan, Anbyon; Kowon, Yangdokn
3. On 5 Au: ust the 58 Division of the Chinese C:)mmunist 4 Field Army moved
north of Changjin Reservoir, from the eastern frcxnt, 2
fit, Four Chinese Commaunist divisions and the North Korean VI and IX Corps
are effecting a build-up in the Hoeyang area,
5, North Korean Navy headquarters is in Songjin (129-12, 40-40) on the east
slope of Suds-san. It consists of six underground roans equipped with
electric 141- hts. The staff of this headquarters comprises two admirals
and 60 officers, The headquarters is called the 502 unit,
6. At the Sor, hung Hot Springs area, on the outskirts of Songjin, seven anti-
aircraft guns are concealed under large willow trees.
7. A governuent-controlled farm in Oro-ri, on the outskirts of Hanahung, is being
used as a billet for a North Korean division which arrived from Hyeesanjin
on 7 August.
8, The North Korean 23 and 26 Divisiorsco;ripleted training in Penchi, Manchuria
and returned to Kowon (127-15, 39-26) (CU 4966) on 3 August.
