5. Laboratory, a stone building of about 10 x 15 meters with a
peaked roof. The laboratory was established on the two upper
floors of the building in July 1949s which has been off limits
to Germans ever since. Sounds, similar to reports by small-bore
rifless have been heard periodically since the establishment of
the laboratoryn The reports, at about 30 second intervals, were
heard daily between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. For a period of 2 or 3 weeks
they were not heard for about C days but mere then heard again for
about 4 weeks. The building was surrounded by a fence of wooden
boardswhich WAS 2.25 meters high and topped by lines of barbed wire.
6. Former billets for ordnance personnel, gutted in 1945.
7. Three-story building with pointed roofs about 15 x 20 meters, con-
taining an officers, mess and the billets of Major Shaven?, (fnu)
and some officers of his unit.

20. Partly buried gasoline bunker, camouflaged by trees growing on its
top. It always contained 10 drums of gasoline, and also Diesel oil
for the depot loeomotive, and gasoline for the cleaning of ammunition.
21. Packing shed, a stone building of 20 x 6 meters, containing one room
with an AAA searchlight which could not be used as it had no bulb,
5 rolls of newsprint, weighing 200 kg each, 10 rolls of oil paper
weighing 60 kg each, about 200 drums with parrafin oil and several
sets of tools; a second room for storage of worn-out tools; and a
third room where the ration supplies for the Soviet personnel were
stored. Supplies were brought by truck about every eight days.
22. Feemer three-story administration building, gutted and without roof.
The basement vas intact and contained a centrifugal pump of 14 HP -with
6 water tanks of 1,000 liters each, 2 of which were6sed, 3 in reserve
and 1 out of order. The punp provided the water supply for the entire
installation.
23Q Stone building, 20 x 60 meters, where carttidges mere cleaned. It
contained two rooms where 80 tons of coal for heating the officere
quarters and for the kitchena were stored. The stock had to last
from February until 31 March 1951. A third room contained packing
material of German origin.
24. :,/orkshop, a stone building of 12 x 35 meters which housed the fitting
shop and the carpentry Shop in its northwestern part and the depot fire
brigade in the opposite rooms. The fire fighting squad consisted of
/ sergeant and 6 EN and had truck r8-43-57 T which carried the pump.
2S0 ooden barracks building of 8 x 25 meters where about 40 Soviet soldiers
were quartered.
26. Locomotive shed of 15 x 20 meters containing a 120-ton Diesel locomotive
which came from the Haibe railroad station on 29 January 19510 but had
to be deadlined for overhauling on 2 February. The capacity of the shed
was two locomotives of the above type.
27. Three-story recreation center, a stone building of 15 x 60 meter which
had a heating plant in its basement for buildings 170 240 27, 28 and 30
and five packieig sheds in Zone II. The building contained an En mess,
a PX and several other aecommodations on the first floor, and EU billets
with 30 beds and a classroom were on the second floor.
28. Two-story administration building, stone bnllding of 15 x 35 metere
which contained seven rooms. Room 1 VAS the mess hall for civilian
workers, and office of the labor-union functionary in the depot. Room
2 vas the Soviet paymaster's office. Room 3 VAS the office of an un-
identified major, the transportition officer. Roam 4 was the labor
officer, Room 5 VAS the office of an unidentified lieutenant colonel, '
the political officer. Room 6. was the office of the commaiding officerft
Room 7 VAS the office of Senior Lieutenant Shochin, (fnu) and two
enlisted clerks.
29. Packing 'shed, a stone building of 20 x 50 meters containing a lavatory
fur tivilians and a kitchee in room 1; telephone mire material for the
euerdhousee in mom 2; supolies in room 3; cleanine rags and 25

30. Guardrooms. Sentries could send signals by bells to building 12. There
